The Raydesk virtual desktop platform has now been confirmed to work with thin client workstations from major manufacturers, including WYSE, HP, and Dell, using Linux RDP servers. Tests have shown the solution to be capable of achieving an acceptable level of overall performance.

Prague 19 August 2010 – Stickfish, the VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) technology specialist, implemented the new version of the  Raydesk 3.0 multiplatform virtual desktop environment for Pragoprojekt. Desktop virtualisation at Pragoprojekt will lower the costs of operation and user administration as compared to classic PC's.

Stickfish, a leading specialist in VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) technologies, introduces a new version of the multiplatform virtual desktop environment, Raydesk. It brings improvements in system functionality and a significantly better user experience. One of the new functions is, for example, the Menu Driven Desktop which enables users to drag & drop menu items to the desktop or to a designated area on the panel.

 The third version of the Ryedesk virtual desktop environment is out. It brings a number of new features and improvements for both users and administrators.

The planned release of the third major version of the Raydesk virtual desktop is drawing nearer. The Raydesk Facebook page has the first preview of the brand new graphical user environment. Raydesk 3 brings some significant changes to the user and administrator experience. The new desktop further improves the ease of use for end users and ensures higher efficacy for administrators. The date of release has been set on May 19, 2010.

The LinuxExpo 2010 conference took place on the 20th of April. The official schedule also included a presentation by a representative of Stickfish which concerned its own product, Raydesk, a virtualised enterprise desktop environment.

Filip Korbel, Stickfish CEO, will be presenting at the 10th LinuxExpo conference. The subject of the talk will be Virtual desktops increase productivity.

Stickfish equipped three classrooms with the Raydesk virtual desktop. The classrooms with 40 workstations altogether are used for education of the library employees, as well as computer courses teaching both MS Windows and Linux, along with other library information systems.

The Stickfish Raydesk 2.51 virtual desktop solution has been chosen by an expert panel of the Computerworld magazine to compete in the finals of the IT Product of 2009 contest.
